I thought since they have signed off on some official correspondence as "Jehovah's Christance Witnesses", they were letting "us" get used to that idea.

to date JWism has defined my life and i hate that TRUTH
by oompa inand i am finding the adjustment to the real world far more difficult than i ever imagined...i f...it has been about five years since i totally woke up to the fraudulant nwt and then all my other doubts i had carried for years were proved true as well.
but almost all of my few friends are exjw or slack jw's and i feel so isolated...my sons friends are mostly exjw too but not their gf's and they have way more normal friends .
how have you done at replacing lifelong friends and family?

Oompa, You have gone through hell and come out the other side. I am so sorry for all of your losses. Is your wife open to you returning to her, if you return to the hall?
She still loves/cares for you and you still/always love her? What a horrible situation.
I am still grappling with the normal peoples thinking of... yeah your getting older, so what, it's better than 6 feet under.
But like a child at christmas who had told Santa Claus personally (at the shopping mall) what he wanted as a gift, then comes christmas morning. The child, with big eyes full of life and joy and excitement, running through his little body KNOWS he's going to get the gift he wanted. Santa/Jehovah doesn't lie. He goes to the xmas tree, spots a gift with his name on it, opens it but its not what he wanted. He thinks. Where did I go wrong? "Have you been a good little boy or girll?" "Yes Santa". How long does it take to keep mulling over in his little head, what happened?
What happened? We xJW's "kids" were following a pied piper to...to no where. We were lied to. There is no santa clause. There is no great gift of everlasting life here on a paradise earth. We will get old. And we will die.
Some of us little people while in the rank and file, worked, went to the hall, went in service, and still felt unfulfilled in love, sex, education, job opportunies, life experiences. We fee/feltl frustrated. But wait...wait on Santa Claus/Jehovah. He will correct everything. This is not your only life. Why, this imperfect body/life is just for a short time, and then the former things will all pass away. That IS true. ALL mankind will pass away. The Governing Body are a group of happy/greedy men.They are happy right NOW. They have power, prestiege, friends, fulfilling work, nat'l and int'l travel, with complete strangers who greet them with open arms where ever they go. They get wined and dined and don't worry about picking up the check. All JW's pay for THEM to have a great life right NOW. Shame on THEM!

SadElder, I like your name and what you have to say. Good friends, where have they gone? I am a social butterfly. I've been in the truth all my life. I organized gatherings, party's etc. I could be counted on to not just bring great food but flowers, table decorations, flare and fun. Now after outing to the elders my horrid life with a spirit anointed (my eye) abusive elder husband, I am not at the hall and I have no friends. This is a beautiful day! I want to go to a party!
When I think of 1/2 of a century knowing jw's, circuit overseers, district overseers, some gov'body members, a few Bethelites, some of them I really liked, and I will miss. I hope they will miss me too. I can't think of any way to get them out. They will have to come to that realization that their religion is a sham themselves.
My old pioneer partner, was actually out before me, so we still have each other but live too many miles apart to visit.
Lonely? Yes.
Depressed? Yes.
Sometimes I cry myself to sleep. The whole awfulness of it all.
You sound like you were one of the good guy elders. I am glad you are out.

This is the letter that finally moved me to register and log in.
If you go to Ancestry.com fill out the form for Joseph Rutherford you will receive a lot of documents pertaining to his travel and census for where he lived and all at Bethel at the time that lived with him. (Side note: Very interesting to look up 1940 census, as well as the other ones. They ask how many years of schooling have you had 1-8 years, H1-H4, C1- C4. Big surprise. Not many went to college but a number of women at Bethel at the time had gone. I encourage you to look it up). I haven't counted how many ship trips to and fro to England & France he has/had made. The trips that are startling/upsetting to me are his long cruises from New York to Los Angeles and LA to NY with Bonnie Boyd and no one else from 124 Columbia Heights. No. Just them. First class. Seperate but adjoining cabins. He's the boss. She's the secretary. If anyone else did it they would be DF'ed in a NY minute, but no, not when your the President of the Watchtower, Bible and Tract Society and the presidents private secretary.
Pertaining to the above letter dated On Board March 31st, 1938 on Matson Line departing Sydney, Australia arriving 16 May 1938 from the ships manifest page 25, two people were travelling with Rutherford on this First class trip. William Heath age 34 and his wife Bonnie age 41, the previous named Bonnie Boyd, Rutherford's long time lover. At customs, Rutherford has his address as of course, 124 Columbia Heights. The very rich Heath's address is 4440 Braebura Road, San Diego, Calif.
If you care to look them up, there are quite a few/many trips where Bonnie Boyd is in attendance. Going through American customs on the ships manifests you'll notice she and Joseph are usually in different line ups so their names are usually not on the same page. Same ship, first class, she's the secretary, has adjoining cabin, both live at Bethel so home address is the same, 124 Columbia Heights, Brooklyn, New York. Not embaressed, no not them. They are the entitled people. Brazen. Reminds me of Leona Helmsley talking about "only the little people pay taxes". This is a big time, money making business that walks all over us little people. Do as I say. Not as I do. Heartless. Cruel.
SOB. SOB? In a letter? In 1938? And he doesn't get called on the carpet for it? Oh. That's right. He's the president of a charity (note charity not charitable) religious organization. He's The Big Cheese (or little shrimp wizard sitting on a stool, hiding behind the curtain aka Wizard of Oz) and can do whatever he likes. And he tells people, God talks to him and chose him to go to heaven? Isn't there a medical term for those kind of people? lol but not.

We MIGHT get SMARTER than THEM. That would be a big no-no. Only THEY can tell us what to say/think/wear/leave our money to them/and have missionary sex hahaha
And we ALL believed their stupid rules and followed them cult style for how many years, decades?

If we get ed-u-cated we will have a better job and a healthier attitude toward life. Not have manmade fear that armegeddon is right around the corner. I've been at the K.H. since I was 3 years old.
I am now 63 and heard "it's just around the corner" for the last time. No more.

Who has killed more Jehovah's Witnesses....Hitler...or the Governing Body of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society?

(many victims of rape, child molesting, or cruel judicial actims).
it occured to me with over seven million jws, it is likely the governing body probably has greater blood guilt than even adolf hitler.. what do you think?

Whathappened...I am so sorry for you and your familys loss. Senseless and cruel. Way too many elders are on power trips. I believe its this, NOT your ex not showing them enough acts of repentance as the reason he was not reinstated. (Just my uneducated guess. My background. My soon to be ex was an elder for 40 years. I literally couldn't shut him up from telling me all the elder confidential matters. Drove me creazy). These elder power trippers enjoy "lording it over the flock". They literally hold life and death in their hands. In my opinion only, and in my experience many, many elders act like THEY are the wolves, and they are killing us little sheep and we need to protect ourselves from them. Weird.
The 3 women/sisters who died.
My own daughter had major blood loss in a few years span. Both times, no blood of course. Our doctor agreeded with hospital staff to move her out of ICU, to, as he told her recently, be with her family as she died on the wards because she/we had refused what they agreed would save her. Whole blood. When she walked out of the hospital 10 days later, they called her a "walking miracle". I am so sorry, not just for those women, but for all who have suffered.

Tim Horton's
by besunny inso both of my kids got a job at tim horton's,,and when i go to pick them up from work i see service car groups there taking a break on a regular basis,,,anyway yesterday when my daughter got home she told me the the most rude people she had to deal with the the car group,and they left a big mess at their table,,what makes it worse is the one girl used to be friends with my daughter when we still went to the hall,,so she was a little upset,,,my question is how can you be out in service and act one way and then while taking a service break be so rude to the worker's,,.

Besunny...So sorry your daughter was at the receiving end of such RUDE worldly people. Oops, I mean JW's. lol but not. No one shoiuld accept meaness from anyone. How I feel for your young daughter. Difficult situation for her and to expect her to buck-up because its her job, to smile and be polite to rude people, especially when she knew them. The only good I see in this situation are your children seeing at first hand, what a hypercritiical group JW's are and will steer far away from them. Focus on the other customers. JW's are just a drop in the bucket in this world. Sooooo many more people out there. And guess what? The majority of them are actually nice. After going to the K.H. for 60 years, I should know.
